  • Matthew Heffernan, Board Chairman

    Matthew Heffernan is a business leader and Lean practitioner in the northern Indiana region with over 20 years of Business and Engineering experience in Automotive and Transportation industries. He earned his Engineering degree from Tri-State University in 2005 and his Masters in Business from Indiana Wesleyan in 2010. He is a member of Harvest Community Church since 2019 and has served in Downtown Ministries since 2020 acting as Lead Facilitator in the Jobs for Life program.

    Matt is a passionate problem solver, enjoys working on projects in a hands-on fashion and believes that God magnifies our potential when we collaborate as a community. He has been married to his wife Cheryl for over 12 years and is a father of 3 children.

  • Jared Yoder, Board Member

    Jared Yoder is retired after 32 years working in customer service at Miller's Building Supply. In the past, Jared has served as an elder and pastor. He served as the ministry leader of Celebrate Recovery at Harvest Community Church for 12 years. Jared has ministered as a bible teacher in several countries and has taught in a leaders training school in Kenya a number of times. He is now serving on the leadership team of Jobs for Life as the champion (mentor) trainer. Jared and his wife Ruthie of 47 years have raised three daughters and are now enjoy eight grandchildren.

  • Lynn McCullough, Board Member

    Lynn has been co-owner of a construction business in Goshen for 33 years with responsibilities in sales and customer service.

    He received his bachelor of arts degree in Christian education from Huntington College and served as the director of Christian education and Youth pastor in Pennsylvania.

    Lynn and his wife, Kathy, have attended Harvest Community Church since 2000. He has served as elder, worship leader and life group leader at Harvest. He has served on the JFL leadership team and is also a facilitator. He is passionate about helping people find their God-given strengths and abilities in order to find success and satisfaction in their work.

    Lynn and Kathy just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They have 5 children and 5 grandchildren.

  • Lance Miller, Board Member

    Lance Miller is a Business Development Officer at Everence Federal Credit Union in Goshen, Indiana, where he builds relationships within the Michiana community and supports business development through banking services. He embraces the Everence vision of empowering financial well-being for faith-inspired living, a passion that aligns closely with the mission of Downtown Ministries to provide Christ-centered solutions for individuals facing difficult circumstances.

    Lance earned his associate degree from Hesston College and went on to complete both his bachelor’s degree and Master of Accountancy at Manchester University in North Manchester, Indiana. He is a licensed CPA and previously spent many years working alongside his family in the hospitality business while also serving on various non-profit and church boards.

    He enjoys traveling, hiking, and reading in his free time and values spending quality time with his friends and family.

  • Mercie May, Board Member

    With over a decade of entrepreneurial and human resource experiences, Mercie May has a passion to see her community, people, and businesses succeed. Mercie is community-minded and enjoys volunteering to support organizations making an impact. Her heart is to help others overcome obstacles and empower them to live a life of abundance.

    Mercie and Chris May have been married for 17 years and have three beautiful daughters. Spending time as a family is one of Mercie's richest rewards.

  • Brandon Griffith, Board Member

    Brandon Griffith serves as a business analytics leader, where he draws on more than two decades of financial, commercial, and strategic experience to partner with business leaders and enable data‑driven insights and solutions. His faith and life experiences have led him to serve in church leadership and worship ministries, given him a heart for families and children, and a desire to make his faith tangible “beyond the church walls.” He believes relationship‑building is foundational to making an impact.

    Brandon and his wife, Janette, married in 2004, and are enthusiastic supporters of their children's activities and teams at Goshen Community Schools.
